Beyond Science and Technology…

From www.manakkudiyan.com :

BeyondSc

Akshaya Bhavan - A good restaurant in BTM layout area in

Bangalore. Akshaya Bhavan excites me not only for that Dosas or Pongals or for that red chutney and

Salem
samabar. It excites me for the kind of crowd comes there. When ever I have an opportunity to have dinner outside, I prefer Akshaya Bhavan.  I enjoy watching people. Simply sitting there and observing people excites me. I simply tune my ears and enjoy.  Though all of them live in the same city, everyone has different story to tell, different slang, different ways and different people.

I was there in Akshaya Bhavan, last Monday evening. Two dudes were busy on their discussion and stepping out of the restaurant.  Between the two bites of my plain uthappam I heard it, “Machaan… Did u read the interview of Actor Sathyaraj? He tore all spiritual leaders and followers. Thomas Alva Edison invented talking movies and camera for that. Our Indians do pooja for the camera and break coconut on the day of film shooting. Stupidity. What is not there with us, these stupid’s should grow in field of science, rocket, satellite and technology and not in pouring milk on the statues, breaking coconut and worshiping god. There is nothing called God. Stupid fellows…”.

I smiled. I remembered my teacher was telling once, Thomas Alva Edison spent last part of his life by reading Bible.

Week passed so fast. Again a new week and new Monday. This Monday excited me for so many reasons. Along with my professional performances-achievements, today there was a special achievement in the history of

India.

   Setting a world record,

India’s Polar rocket on Monday successfully placed ten
satellites, including the country’s remote sensing satellite, into orbit in a single mission.  This is for the first time that ISRO has put ten satellites in orbit in a single launch. This is also PSLV’s twelfth successful flight.  It is for the first time in the world that ten satellites were launched in a single mission.

Russia
had earlier launched eight satellites together. – Times of

India”.

India set new record in the satellite technology. Spine erects, head goes up, my chest expanded in the pride. There was a pride in every cell of my body.

Again this Monday evening I happened to visit Akshaya Bhavan, finished my dinner paid the bill and as I was stepping out I saw the news paper kept on the chair outside. It pulled me; I picked it and open the news paper. It read ‘ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair had been to Thirupathi on Saturday, had special dharshan of Venkatachalapathy.  Devasthana officials received him at Thirmala in the morning; he attended the special Suprabhatha seva and did special prayer for PSLV’s launch”. I folded the newspaper and kept it there.

Last Monday evening … “Our Indians do pooja for the camera and break coconut …Stupidity. …. these stupid’s should grow in field of science, rocket, satellite and technology and not in pouring milk on the statues…. Not in worshiping god. There is nothing called God. Stupid fellows…”.

This Monday evening… “ISRO set world record, sets history by putting 10 satellites into orbit with a single launch….   ISRO has done some thing which no one has done. It is an ultimate record in satellite technology…. ISRO chief visited Thirupathi, had a special pooja, attended suprabhatha seva, did special prayer for PSLV’s launch and for its success”.

I stepped out of Akshaya Bhanvan.

Again I smiled. This time it is bigger one.
