Director Dharani told in an interview, ” after ‘ Kuruvi’, the question of Tamil cinema would be ‘ Who will fight for Vijay’s place?’, Vijay has gone to the next level.”Vijay travels in a small circle of action hero. As Dharani said, how can he go to next big circle or who are all there in the big circle, add few things like them and automatically he will be moved to the next circle… Ok. Rajini’s style, Rajini’s few dialogue delivery style, superman / Spiderman jumps (even to catch a train!!), few scenes of ‘ Mask of Zorro’ with similar kind of scarf and few scenes from Jackie Chan’s fight sequence – Add everything and ask Vijay to perform all these things. He will go to next bigger circle, so rest of all heroes in Tamil cinema will fight for Vijay’s place.

Hahahaah… Do you think I am doing comedy? No this is the comedy by director Dharani.  And all these scenes look comedy in the movie and not going in the flow of the movie.

Like a famouse writer of Tamil told once , ” Vijay want to become Rajini and Vishal want to become Vijay’. It is visible in the movie.

‘Aalapiranthavan’, ‘Madurai Veeran yenga samy’ – fall of Sathyaraj, reason : started acting like M G R. ‘ Pookkaari’ – a slap for Kalaignar Karunanithi and Mu.Ka.muthu, Reason : started imitating MGR. ‘ Kutthu’ was a major ‘ Kuthu’ in the face of Simbu, reason : started doing viral vithai like Rajini Kanth. … this list goes on about people got destroyed when they want to become some one. Can some one tell Vijay not to act or imitate Rajini. He tried it already and got a major slap in the movie called ” ATM”.

Dharani is a good director; I do not watch any director’s movies with the bench mark of their previous movies. But Dharani himself went into the trap of his previous massive hit ‘ Gilli’. He himself could not come out. Kabadi has been replaced with Car race, running with Dhanalaxmi is replaced with running with Devi – are visible sequences.

Dharani is ultimate in few scenes and dialogues (especially lollu and lolaayi dialogues). The way he has taken fight scenes and build ups are good. Vijay fits for those scenes.

Trisha – Do not know what happened to her in this movie, Pathetic acting. Even when hearing hero got murdered, there is no ex-pression in the face – is an example. (aaalum sari illai)

Vivek – Anna, please come out of this habbit of using bad words. There is no double meaning, it is straight meaning in this movie. Vivek and Vijay combination works good and makes us to laugh till first half.

Vidhyasahar – Rerecording is plus point for the movie and especially for build up of fighting scenes.

Vijay - This man has grown so much. Visible growth in the way he acts, delivers dialogue, fights, feels and especially in the way he dances. He comes and wins. He has given his good performances on what is expected from him or what is to be given.

But …. Vijay’s performance, Vidhyasahar’s rerecording, co-operating photography and all these things went waste because of very ordinary, script with ‘n’ number of flaw, never ending very lengthy movie.

‘ yei… Pumpisthaanu, Rapisthaanu, yemiraaa, Lethaaaa’ – do you think it is Telugu movie. Yes. Not only the dialogues, but also the movie goes like Telugu movie. So many villans, so many build ups and useless ending of them.

1. Lengthy

2. useless knot

3. ‘n’ number of logical flaw

4. Songs

5. Director tried balancing family, mass, abolishing of slavery and got wrong equation.

6. Question in mind, ‘ am i sitting in Tamil movie or Telugu movie?’

And everything else about the movie except listed in plus points.

Might be a learning for Vijay as well as Dharani, but for a movie for his fans. For few good scenes, you do not need to watch the whole movie and get bugged. Television channels will help you on those scenes.

Kuruvi – ‘ uyara parakka aasai pattu sakthi illaamal pona kuruvi’.
